Kinder Dance (ages 2 to 4)

If your child is a dancer at heart and simply needs a stage on which to perform then our Kinder Dance class may be exactly what you are looking for.

As the children enjoy spinning, jumping, marching and skipping to the music the use of their imagination is also encouraged. Classes are structured and fun, encouraging the true enjoyment for dance.

Each class begins with a warm up introduced through a “hello song”. The warm up is then followed by interactive dancing often through the use of props such as musical instruments, scarves, ribbons, balloons and feathers, to name a few. The class ends with a “good-bye song” as well as the presentation of participation stickers.

Kinder Dance is a "Parent Welcome" class.

 

Pre-School Dance (ages 2 to 5)

Does your child LOVE music? Does your child have an imagination that runs wild? If so, then Pre-School Dance may be exactly what you are looking for. Whether they have been dancing for "years" or entering their first dance class experience Pre-School Dance will surly leave them wanting more.

Pre-School Dance classes are focused on the use of the imagination expressed through movement as well as the further development of listening and social skills. Pre-School Dance students are provided the opportunity to explore movement in and fun, fast paced positive atmosphere.

Each class beings with attendance and an opportunity to share, followed by a theme based journey that ends with a return  to "reality" and a participation sticker before heading home for dinner and bedtime. A goodnight's sleep awaits all those who participate!  .

 

Creative Ballet and Intro to Ballet (ages 3-6)

If your child loves to run and jump, twirl and bend while making up dance moves to music then our Creative Ballet or Intro to Ballet class may be exactly what you are looking for.

Through creative movement, games and imaginative exercises the children learn the very first steps of basic ballet technique. Creative Ballet and Intro to Ballet will help develop beneficial skills such as confidence, balance, spatial awareness, self-expression, muscle development, imagination and creativity, co-ordination and rhythm.

Classes are structured and fun, encouraging the true enjoyment for dance. Each class focuses on a creative theme that starts with a warm up, followed by interactive dancing often through the use of props. Classes end with an opportunity for “free dance” followed by the presentation of participation stickers.

 

 Level 1/2/3/4 Ballet  (ages 5 and up)

If your child has had previous dance experience or would like to try dance for the first time then classes in ballet may be exactly what you are looking for. Through the introduction of ballet technique in a fun and supportive environment, students experience the joy of learning to dance. Ballet develops beneficial skills such as confidence, balance, spatial awareness, self-expression, muscle development, imagination and creativity, co-ordination and rhythm. Ballet classes are structured, progressive and fun.

Optional Royal Academy of Dance or Cecchetti Society of Cananda Demonstration/Examinations are offered when appropriate.

 

Dance With Me (all ages welcome)

If your child enjoys dancing, listening and singing to music, then our Dance With Me class may be exactly what you are looking for. Dance With Me classes encourage movement exploration, social interaction, independence and musicality. Children are encouraged to listen to and follow instructions and to communicate openly with their teacher as well as their fellow class mates.

Classes are structured and fun, encouraging freedom of expression through movement. A huge selection of music is introduced including pre-school pop, movie theme songs and even nursery rhymes and jingles.  

Classes end with the presentation of participation stickers. Dance with Me is a "parent participation" class for all ages and does not participate in the End Year Recital.

 

Adult Ballet

Leap Forward Dance School offers Adult Ballet! Adult students learn basic ballet technique and have tons of fun while improving their coordination, flexibility, posture and alignment. Ballet is a great fom of exercise, increasing muscle tone and mental focus. This class is a motivating and positive workout for all fitness levels.
