Aurora Edwards

Picture1Aurora has worked with children for over two decades. After graduating high school, she became a respite care provider for foster parents and provided support to families in the process of reunification. She spent five years in corporate finance and project management positions, before returning to her true passion - working with children.

She began working in childcare centres 18 years ago in Boulder, Colorado when her son was born. After moving to Washington state, she worked as a caregiver in an emergency foster shelter, and then returned to university where she obtained her B.A. Ed, majoring in special education. Aurora was a special education teacher in Astoria, Oregon before moving to Alberta. During her time in Alberta, she worked as an ECE, ran her own dayhome, and taught at the elementary level. Alberta was much too cold for her, so she fled to Kelowna where she worked as an elementary teacher and social-emotional learning teacher. Still missing the "big water" she was accustomed to living by, Aurora made one final move to Vancouver Island in the summer of 2022. She is currently a TTOC for the Saanich School District and happily returning to work in early childhood education on a part-time basis.

In her spare time, Aurora can be found exploring the island with her faithful canine companion, reading, or trying out new recipes in the kitchen with her son.
